May Flowers

I have been enjoying the pictures of friends in the fields of Mount Vernon. The many hues of the Tulips exuding joy of creation. I wonder if flowering plants are God's way of smiling at death and saying, not this time. 

In FLC Preschool Chapel it was fun to have the kiddos shout out the many colors God has made, because they have learned their colors and how wonderful it is that we can enjoy them. They are all so bright and beautiful.

Easter is life, in all its colors, exploding onto the world. One can pretend that their is only one color that is important, but God has a way of denying this kind of narrowness and lack of imagination. The fact that all that we see God has made, and God has deemed it worthy. God looks on us and all of creation and calls it good. This is resurrection life: to see the world anew in all its glory and understanding that we can indeed live a life of peace and harmony!

This goodness cannot be expressed any better than by scripture:

Praise the Lord!

Across the heavens,

from the heights,

Sun and moon, glittering stars,

Highest heavens, rain and clouds,

God's splendor above the earth,

gives strength to the nation,

glory to the faithful,

a people close to the Lord.
